“Rusal Aughinish is the largest alumina refinery in Europe and the largest of the alumina facilities operated by UC RUSAL.The plant was built between 1978 and 1983 and had an initial rated capacity of 800,000 tonnes a year. The current annual capacity of the refinery is in excess of 1.8 million tonnes of alumina. Rusal Aughinish has always been to the forefront in terms of technology in the industry. Year after year it implements the most modern technologies available to ensure it remains one of the top alumina producers in the world.“

McGrath’s Limestone have supplied Rusal Aughinish for past number of years, during this time they have helped Aughinish to maximise efficiency by producing specialised granular and powder calcium carbonate products customised to their needs.

Paddy Farragher has being running an agricultural contracting business for over 52 years and he has being an agent for McGraths since the 1970’s delivering and spreading McGraths Grolime in many areas of south Mayo and north Galway.

✨ A Big Thank You to Our Visiting Students This Week ✨ We were delighted to welcome two fantastic students to McGraths Limestone Cong as part of their school experience programmes. 👷‍♀️ Fia Ní Cheoinín – Scoil Phobail Mhic Dara, Carna This is Fia’s second time joining us. Last year, during her Transition Year placement, she spent time with our Environment, Health & Safety Officer, Mary, gaining a first look into the world of Health & Safety. Fia returned this week through her 5th Year LCVP module — and it’s clear that Health & Safety is the direction she’s excited to pursue. Her curiosity, confidence, and enthusiasm were brilliant to see. 📊 Ellanora Curran – St. Paul’s School, Oughterard We were also delighted to welcome Ellanora, who has a strong interest in Business and Enterprise. She spent her time exploring the marketing side of the business. Coming from a family deeply rooted in construction and entrepreneurship, Ellanora said she enjoyed seeing how things operate outside the family business - gaining new perspective and insight into future career options.
